We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has offered their prayers and support for our mom in the last 24 hours. We know how much you all love her and want her to get well. In an effort to keep everyone updated, we created this blogspot and we will update it as events allow.
Boz, Bergan and Richard are doing very well right now. As of this moment, 9:20am, they are in their last treatment. Richard has some enzymes in his heart that are a little high, but that will be resolved in short time. After this treatment they will all be fine and ready to go home.
We still don't know much about Wendi. Many of you know that when she got to the hospital, they gave her a breathing tube and so they gave her anesthesia. In essence they put her to sleep. Once she got out of her hyperbaric chamber treatment, she woke up and panicked, so they sedated her.
Wendi is no longer in 'critical' condition, but she IS in 'serious' condition. She is still heavily sedated, though no longer under anesthesia. If we talk to her, she will stir, so they don't want us to talk to her so that she doesn't try to fight her breathing tube. This is a VERY good sign. If she woke up then, she'll wake up again. As far as the damage and possible problems she may have AFTER she wakes up, we will not know until she does wake up.
The doctors and nurses want to keep Wendi sedated until after her last treatment which will be tonight. She will probably not wake up until late tonight or early tomorrow. Only family is allowed to visit her right now, as she doesn't really even know we're there. I know there are a lot of preschoolers who have made cards and want to bring things to her. If you'd like to bring them, we can take her the cards, but please no flowers or food because of the risk of bacteria.
Any changes that occur will be posted on this blog. Please pray for her and keep her in your thoughts. Wendi is a strong, stubborn girl and she'll pull through.
We welcome anyone who would like to talk to us, or if you have further questions, please try to check the blog for updates before calling us. Feel free to leave comments on the blog and we will answer them as promptly as possible.
Thanks so much
